    Elite Performance Team

    VO2 Max Medical founder Dr. Harry Pino, in partnership with the New Jersey Chiropractic & Sports Recovery, is pleased to offer comprehensive VO2 max metabolic testing. Each test is personally conducted and interpreted by Dr. Pino. He’ll meet with athletes and coaches to discuss test results and provide in-depth interpretation and training recommendations. VO2 Max Medical uses validated protocols, and accurate equipment for data collections and interpretation.
     

    What is VO2 max testing?

    VO2max measures the body’s ability to use oxygen. In endurance activities such as running, cycling and swimming, the amount of oxygen the muscles can use is an important factor in determining performance potential.

    Why is VO2 max testing important?

    Exercise testing will allow the staff a snapshot in time regarding an athlete’s training program and current level of fitness. These tests help determine the specific heart rate and training zones for individual athletes and help coaches and athletes to adapt their training programs to target underdeveloped energy systems.

    Athlete Performance and Lactate Profile

    This is the “Goal Standard” test used by elite endurance athletes, . Blood Lactate is the most important predictor of endurance performance as well as key when determining muscle fatigue. Blood Lactate measurement is used by sport scientists, coaches and athletes to accurately determine heart rate training zones, recovery and much more.
     
    This gives a precise method for testing and monitoring training intensity and recovery. This will help us determine individualized heart rate training zones

    Complete Metabolic Profile

    How many calories do you need to consume for peak performance? How do you need to train to get there? These are some of the question that will be answered with this test. Whether you’re an athlete that sees the importance of properly training and fueling your body, or simply someone who understands that weight management is done through both diet and exercise. This data will be used as the foundation for your customized exercise program that will truly meet  your needs.

    The dynamic of running and cycling are different, this “Double Mode Profile” will give you the proper training intensities for each discipline. Ideal for runners or cyclists who want to save and purchase a before and after test, or triathletes who want to book a cycling and running test.
